Pete-The Therapy Dog 2003

I rescued Pete at Hwy 45 and Edgebrook. Ironically 2 months and one day from the day we had to put Molly down.  Edgebrook and 45 is not some place that I pass by a whole lot. I had went to Academy store on 59 and Shepard and could not find the type of shoes that I wanted and the "clerk" was not much help and I decided to show them by going to another Academy, so I headed down 45.  After I went to the academy at Edgebrook and 45 and found out they did not have what I wanted, I headed home. When I got to Edgebrook to use the u turn to head back north on 45 I saw a small dog, a lady and two small kids. They were crossing the street and going under the overpass.  Before they got across to the other side the lady, not knowing any better started kicking at him trying to get him not to follow. I saw this and stopped and saved him from probably getting smushed !

At  first we were not going to keep him because even with the loss of Molly we were still over the "dog limit".  The below was a poster we made for  him to find a good home, well it worked he found a good home.  Each day we had him made us realize what a special animal we had and each day made it harder to part with him. As you can see we kept him and he is in his fourth year of working as a Therapy Dog.

My new foster daddy plucked me out of the intersection at Highway 45 and Edgebrook. I got to my new temporary home and proved to them how smart I am and easy to train I was. I am also pretty calm for a puppy, but those older dogs in his house frown at me a whole lot. He is teaching me how to do something that I already do but I humor him, that would be how to sit. Also he is teaching me how to go potty outside, I think he enjoys the walks as much as I do.

I am only a few months old and I feel like I am in pretty good health, but I want to go to your vet as soon as you take me home.

I am not sure what I am besides a puppy but I heard the humans say they thought I had a bit of collie in me.

If you would like to meet me and maybe take me home, Please call Scott Mellott at 713 729-6536. I promise I will make you a happy dog/puppy owner. They call me Pistol Pete but I probably will answer to any name you would like to give me.
