I have several web pages dedicated to fire fighters, police officers who serve
and protect us. Many lives have been lost in serving and protecting communities
like mine. Each one is as painful as the one before. My deepest sympathy to
family, freinds and brother, sister fire fighters who lived near and around
Kevin Kulow. My prayers are with you all. Please visit my tribute to Kevin at

I did not know Kevin, but I have a dream just like he was living and that is to
be a Houston Firefighter. There is nothing greater then serving the community of
Houston and doing what you love. I am only 19 and love firefighting. I know
Kevin will be missed and we will always be thinking of you. My brother the flags
will fly half staffed at the Katy and West I-10 Fire Departments until deemed
necessary.

To Kevin's wife:
Words alone can't ease the pain that you must be feeling. When Kevin joined
the HFD, he was taken into a very large family. He is our Brother and you are
our sister. We will always be there for you, should you need us.
To Kevin's children:
You are small now and won't understand what has happened for many years to
come. You will ask many questions about your daddy and why it had to happen. No
one has an answer for that but there is one thing that you must know; your
father was a very brave man. He was a hero.
God Bless all of you and I pray that you never suffer another sad moment for the
rest of your life.

As I sit here having read the memorial page about Kevin, I have chills and hot
flashes as if I have lost a dear friend. Since 9-11, I think we as Americans
have a new found respect for the firefighters in our country. Kevin is now among
the ones of "some gave all..."

Kevin to your family may God give you the courage to continue on as Kevin
watches over you from heaven. I am a Lieutenant with Oconee County and served
with the Village Fire Department in Houston and the Missouri City Fire
Department in Missouri City, Texas. My son is assigned at HFD Station 67 A shift
and called me Sunday morning to tell me of Kevin's tragic death. I could tell
that it affected him profoundly. I feel your loss as I am the leader of our
Honor Guard and have buried several firefighters in the last year. May God
comfort you as you greive for Kevin.

It is sad to see that another of my fellow servicemen has passed away in the
line of duty. Especially a fellow Houstonian. But it makes me proud that the
people of Houston and of this nation can come together to honor such great men
as these firemen, policemen, and our servicemen such as myself. Kevin rest in
peace and know that I will do everything I can to make sure that your family
will remain safe from terrorism and any enemy that might arise. To Kevin's
family rest easy and know that he is in Heaven and smiling down on us all.

forgotten. We will lift up your memory, and watch over your family. This is the
life we have chosen, and though we never met, you are my brother. Onward to
heaven, now to battle back the flames of hell.

Kevin was a model student in the academy, and never had any other aspirations
other than to work at HFD. I know when he was accepted to the fast track, that
was probably one of the happiest times in his life. My family and I pray for his
family, and know that he is above watching over his brothers!
